Winemakers

Viticulture and winemaking the art of wine

Since 1870 a family has dedicated its life to viticulture, safeguarding the value of the land and transforming it into authentic wines.
At the basis of the work of the Facchin winery there is a simple and profound principle: following every phase of the production process with competence, passion and responsibility.

The value of a cycle complete production

From the vineyard to the bottle

Being winemakers and winemakers means having direct control of the entire wine process.

From the cultivation of the grapes to the winemaking, up to the bottling and distribution, every step is followed internally by the company. This approach, adopted by a small number of wineries in Italy and abroad, allows us to preserve quality, identity and stylistic coherence.

It is a choice that arises from the desire to maintain an authentic bond with one’s work and with the territory, making the most of the characteristics of the grapes coming exclusively from the property’s vineyards.

The origins

Our history

Its history spanning three centuries makes the Facchin family one of the longest-running wineries in this area. Viticulture is a passion that has been handed down for four generations in the Facchin family and began in 1870 with the founder Antonio Facchin.

The Cellar

Today the company can count on a modern and continuous development of the cellar which internally takes care of all the various phases of wine production: from vinification, to sparkling wine production, to refinement (in steel, wood, amphora and bottle), to bottling and marketing.

Barrique cellar

All phases are followed with almost obsessive passion and dedication, to guarantee the best quality standards of the final product.

Values that are handed down over time

Tradition,
competence and trust

The history of the Facchin family is deeply linked to the Piave winemaking tradition.
Generation after generation, peasant experience has been transformed into technical knowledge, research and capacity for innovation. The passion for wine thus becomes a shared heritage, made of daily dedication and attention towards those who choose these wines.

The direct relationship with customers, built over time through hospitality and conviviality, creates a bond that goes beyond the simple tasting experience.

The Piave

Producing wines
representative of
territory

The company and the estates of Facchin family they are located in the province of Treviso, about 50 km from Venice, in the heart of one of the most suitable wine-growing areas in the Veneto. The vineyards extend between Friuli and the mouth of the Piave, from the hills of Conegliano and Montello to the Venetian hinterland.

The climate is temperate, with hot summers and mild winters; the North-East currents favor temperature variations which enhance the aromas of the DOC and DOCG wines.

The Piave, historical symbol of the territory, accompanies a thousand-year-old wine-growing tradition, attested already in pre-Roman times. The development under the Serenissima and the Habsburg domination, together with the renewal between the two wars, laid the foundations of modern viticulture.

The Bellussera

The Vineyards

The company’s Crus are numerous and reflect the pedoclimatic trend of the territory, favoring the areas near the hills (Unesco buffer zones) for the cultivation of Prosecco, continuing in the Grave del Piave area and neighboring lands for the great red wines and aromatic whites.

The Olive Trees

Olive trees
on the Hill

Particular attention is paid to another very important product of the Mediterranean diet, extra virgin olive oil, which our company obtains through the cultivation of olive trees in the hilly area at a height above 500m above sea level.

A long story more than a century

Viticulture entered the family’s history in 1870, when Antonio Facchin started the first vineyards in the Piave lands.
In the following years the company grew, expanding its estates up to the current vineyards distributed between the plains and hills. Today the fourth generation leads the winery, professionally following both the work in the vineyard and in the cellar, keeping the family tradition alive.

From our past comes the vision of the future.

Between the Piave and the
hills of Prosecco

The Facchin family estates extend across one of the most suitable wine-growing areas in the Veneto.
On one side the UNESCO heritage hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, on the other the flat lands of the Piave, characterized by soils rich in stones and sands which contribute to defining the aromatic profile of the grapes.

This balance between different landscapes allows us to cultivate varieties capable of expressing unique and distinctive nuances.

Appellations and winemaking tradition

Prosecco DOCG,
DOC Treviso and wines
of the Piave

Respecting the denominations of the territory, the cellar produces a range of wines that ranges from the fresh bubbles of Prosecco to the more structured reds of the Venetian tradition.
The technical knowledge of the winemakers and the peculiarities of the soil contribute to creating recognizable, award-winning and appreciated wines in Italy and abroad.

The Great Reserves

A vine
indigenous to
great expression

In this area, close to the Piave river, a highly expressive native vine is cultivated, the Raboso Piave, which is baptized with the name of Unno – Malanotte del Piave Docg in one of its most masterly expressions, and which is put on the market no earlier than 10 years, when time has favored maturation and smoothed out the rough edges. Malanotte is a Docg, the only one in the Piave and the name Unno refers to the legend of Attila’s stop in the Borgo Malanotte area, but also to the marked acidity of Raboso Piave. Among our reserves, also Barucchella and Gòn, authentic expressions of the territory and family traditions, handed down from generation to generation.

Awards that tell a story the quality

Over the years, the wines of the Facchin winery have obtained recognition in national and international wine competitions and guides.
A result that testifies to the care taken in the work in the vineyard and in the cellar and the value of a tradition that continues to evolve.
